Embark on a fascinating journey through time with Géraldine, our guide and elected representative to the Assembly of French Nationals Abroad, during our Guided Historical Tour of Akaroa. Géraldine will unveil the rich French heritage woven into the fabric of Akaroa, shedding light on the profound impact of the French settlement on the town's architecture, language, and traditions. Discover what makes Akaroa stand out as the most French-infused city in New Zealand as Géraldine shares captivating stories and insights that bring the town's history to life.

12:00PM: 🍽️ Lunch at Ma Maison

Ma Maison Restaurant is one of Akaroa's hidden gems. The dining area is decked out with an open fire and bi-fold doors, so the breathtaking waterfront views overlooking Daly's wharf and the Akaroa Harbour remain uninterrupted. Their menu is a culinary expression of this region. The focus is on freshness and simplicity, using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible.

2:00PM: 🍇 Guided tour of Akaroa region, visits to local producers, and tastings

Now it's time to kick back and treat your taste buds at French Peak Vineyard. Whether you're chilling inside their cozy cellar door or soaking up the sun in the courtyard with a view of the vineyard, you're in for a treat. Get ready to dive into some of the best local goodies from Banks Peninsula - think wine tasting and a platter to share with cheese, smoked salmon, cured meats, and other tasty seasonal bites.
Your guide will spill the beans on why these local treats are so darn good and fill you in on how they're made. And here's a sweet bonus: on the way back, we'll make a few stops to meet the local producers behind all these goodies, such as Akaroa Gin Distillery and Old French Road Olive Grove, so you can grab some for yourself. 

5:00PM: Departure from Akaroa and return to Alliance Française de Christchurch
